all 和 both的用法與區別

all代表或修飾兩個以上的人或事物，或不可數的東西。可以做主語、表語、同位語和定語。

例句：All of us like to eat potato chips.(作主語)

=We all like to eat potato cjips.(作同位語)

我們所有的人都喜歡吃薯條。

You have not eaten all (of) the bread.

你的面包沒有吃完。

both是指“兩者都……”;而all是指“三個或三個以上的人或物都……”，可以作主語、賓語、同位語和定語。注意它們的區別：

They were all waiting outside the gate.

他們(三個以上)都在大門外等著。

They were both waiting outside the gate.

他們兩個都在大門外等著。
