現在進行時
課文中的句子“Wow, your roommates are cleaning the room”中出現的語法現象是現在進行時。現在進行時由be的現在式(am/ is/ are)+動詞現在分詞構成，表示動作正在進行，同時也表示動作的持續性。
(1)表示此刻正在進行或發生的動作
可以與時間狀語now, at the moment等連用，也可不用時間狀語，如：
He is writing a love letter to his wife now. 他正在給妻子寫情書。
The workers are building a new swimming pool. 工人們正在建一個新的游泳池。
(2)表示按計劃、安排和打算將要發生的動作
常有表示將來的時間狀語，常見的能表示此意義的動詞有：arrive, borrow, come, discuss, fly, give, go, join, leave, move, play, run, sail, set out, start, stay, stop, take off, wear, work等。

(3)表示不斷重復的動作
常和always, forever, repeatedly 等頻度副詞連用。
