現(xiàn)在進行時
課文中的句子“Wow, your roommates are cleaning the room”中出現(xiàn)的語法現(xiàn)象是現(xiàn)在進行時。現(xiàn)在進行時由be的現(xiàn)在式(am/ is/ are)+動詞現(xiàn)在分詞構(gòu)成，表示動作正在進行，同時也表示動作的持續(xù)性。
(1)表示此刻正在進行或發(fā)生的動作
可以與時間狀語now, at the moment等連用，也可不用時間狀語，如：
He is writing a love letter to his wife now. 他正在給妻子寫情書。
The workers are building a new swimming pool. 工人們正在建一個新的游泳池。
(2)表示按計劃、安排和打算將要發(fā)生的動作
常有表示將來的時間狀語，常見的能表示此意義的動詞有：arrive, borrow, come, discuss, fly, give, go, join, leave, move, play, run, sail, set out, start, stay, stop, take off, wear, work等。
The athletes are arriving in Beijing tomorrow. 運動員于明早到達北京。

(3)表示不斷重復(fù)的動作
常和always, forever, repeatedly 等頻度副詞連用。
May is always helping others. 阿美經(jīng)常幫助別人。
They are seeking after truth forever. 他們永遠(yuǎn)追求真理。
