A nano nap is a period of sleep which lasts between 15 and 30seconds. It is generally involuntary, and often occurs whenpeople are incredibly tired and bored. Many office workers andstudents are familiar with the concept, thanks to falling asleepduring meetings and classes.
“打盹兒”指持續時間在15到30秒之間的小睡狀態。這種睡眠狀態通常是無意識的,多數是在人們極度疲勞和無聊的時候出現的。很多辦公室職員和學生都對這個詞很熟悉,因為他們經常會在開會或者上課的時候“打盹”。

Although napping in general is believed to be beneficial, the benefits of the nano nap are dubious,since one is generally not asleep long enough to truly relax. In fact, since one usually feels guiltyand stressed when waking up from a nano nap, it is entirely possible that the nap may actuallymake the napper feel worse.
雖說小睡對身體有好處,但打盹的好處卻值得懷疑,因為人在打盹的時候睡眠時間不夠長,因此也不能完全放松。事實上,人在打盹兒醒來后通常會覺得愧疚或者有壓力,所以打盹很有可能會讓人醒來之后感覺更糟糕。
