首先，來學(xué)習(xí)ago的用法：ago表示某時間以前，在其前面放上一個時間詞組，如：3 years ago(3年以前), 2 days ago(兩天以前), one year and a half ago(一年半以前), 4 months ago(4個月以前)：用到ago這個詞時，句子一般用過去式：

I came to Guangzhou and settled down 6 years ago.

我六年前來到廣州并定居下來。

Jenny didn’t know how to ride a bike 5 months ago.

珍麗5個月前還不會騎自行車。

We met each other on the internet 3 weeks ago.

我們是3個星期前在網(wǎng)上認(rèn)識的。

My roommate borrowed 200 dollars from me days ago.

我的室友幾天前從我這兒借了200塊錢。

I started to pick up my career months ago.

我是在數(shù)月年重拾了自己的事業(yè)。

下面，我們來學(xué)學(xué)before的用法，首先，我們可以在before后面放上一個名詞，或名詞性詞組：

I’ll try to finish my report before dinner.

我要在晚飯前完成這個報告。

I’ll pick you up at the entrance before 6:30.

我6點(diǎn)半以前到入口處接你。

同時，我們也可以在before后放一個句子，表示在做某事之前，一般也會用過去式，或一般時：

Before I came to Guangzhou, I was in Beijing as an English interpreter.

我來廣州之前，在北京做英語口譯。

Before we got married, we were living in completely different countries.

我們結(jié)婚以前，住在完全不同的兩個國家。

Before everything goes well, we need to work out a plan.

在一切順利之前，我們需要做出一個計劃出來。

另外，before還可以直接單獨(dú)使用，表示“從前”，“以前”：

I never thought about it before. 我以前從來沒想過這事。
